Terrarium Tribe
We’ve built Terrarium Tribe to be the online center of the planted terrarium world. Founded in 2019, it’s our mission to support you through every step of the terrarium journey - from inspiration to creation. We’ll teach you how to build a terrarium you’ll love and provide you with the right materials to do it, all from our streamlined online ecosystem.
Our blog has been recognized by the likes of the New York Times and Martha Stewart, and it’s visited by over a million terrarium builders every year. And now on the store, you can shop all the products we use and recommend in one place.

Our Story
Hey, I’m Dan, and this is my partner Rae. Terrarium Tribe started when were living in a tiny flat with way too many houseplants. To reclaim some space, I decided do something a little more exciting with them. Build a terrarium!
What started as a creative means to fulfil the need for nature in limited space turned into a thriving hobby and learning experience I wanted to share.
I realised terrariums were a much more exciting way to apply (and combine) my scientific and marketing backgrounds. A couple of years in, Rae started teaching terrarium building alongside teaching yoga, and honestly, the rest is history.
Meet Our Partners
Back in 2021 we started working with Bryan and Natassa from Rubber Ducky Isopods to expand our bioactive content. Their enthusiasm, care, and attention to detail is unmatched, and it’s been so easy to recommend their isopods and springtails over the years.
In 2024, we decided to partner up with them directly to create our own range and bring you all the very best terrarium and bioactive products under one roof. Being based out of Denver, Colorado, we’re able to easily and competitively ship across the mainland US. And with a wealth of experience shipping live goods, you know your goodies are in the best of hands.
